Sheldon Lavin, OSI Group CEO

Sheldon Lavin’s career in the meat industry can be defined by stating big cities in our history was not built in a single day. Lavin had entered the industry more than four decades ago as an outcast, having participated in a successful career as an executive in the industry of banking, an investor, and owning his own firm which specializes in financial consulting.

Lavin had assumed the position of CEO and Chairman of the OSI Group, which is a limited liability corporation and has had a part in transforming the small burger supplier into a supplier of products on a worldwide scale to a variety of retail brands and food services. On a global level, OSI Group is numbering nearly 20,000 employees. Sheldon Lavin is mostly proud of the company’s employees and the corporate culture he’s been build.

Lavin began his path in the meat industry in the year of 1970 in which he had arranged financing for the company of Otto & Sons, which is the predecessor company of OSI Industries, LLC. In the year of 1975, Lavin had become more involved as the company began to look into investments overseas. With a deep appreciation for the strategies that have been employed by Mcdonald’s and its business culture, Lavin has joined the organization on a full-time schedule.

At age 81, Lavin is actively pursuing further growth for the group that he began with and is placing emphasis in focusing on the continents of Europe and Asia. Lavin is active with several different including the Inner City Foundation of Chicago, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Jewish United Fund and many other charities. Sheldon Lavin has certainly had a role in providing communities with assistance to grow, expand, and ultimately develop in which people are given opportunities of making differences in their communities and their own personal lives.
