Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund is a non-profit human rights organization that was founded by Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin. The fund was established with the main aim of providing financial support to other human rights organizations that are advocating for the rights of the immigrants.
The fund was as a result of a court settlement in which Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin were awarded a sum of 3.75 million dollars after being unlawfully arrested and detained by Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
The two at the time of their arrest were working as reporters at Phoenix New Times. They published an article that did go down well with the county officials leading to their arrest. They sued the county thereafter and were awarded the 3.75 million dollars which they used to start the fund.
