Doe Deere was born in Russia. One of her first encounters being an entrepreneur was when she was just thirteen years old. She uses to make and sell temporary tattoos to the kids in her school. She knew that not a lot of people knew about them, and started wearing them herself to make it seem cool. People caught onto the trend and followed right on. Years later, she used the same strategy to build up Lime Crime. She moved to New York when she was just seventeen years old with dreams of becoming a prominent musician. She would regularly perform at various venues across the city and took part in several events. Being the incredibly likable person that she is, she had numerous people following her along, supporting her music.

One of the things that Doe Deere stood out for back then was the looks that she would put together. For the nineties, Doe Deere had a somewhat eccentric look that not a lot of people would usually wear. She liked bright colors and bold hues and was not afraid to wear them, unlike most people. However, at the time, she would find it hard to get the makeup in the colors that she wanted, since not that many brands would make makeup in those colors. She then started making her makeup, and mainly stuck to what she liked. Because of how much attention her makeup would draw, she would regularly get asked about it and if she would make it for them as well. Seeing this incredible response from people, she decided to pursue this and build it up into a business.

Today, Lime Crime has grown into one of the most well-known brands in the makeup industry and has one of the most extensive ranges of unique products that one may not be able to find elsewhere. Doe Deere continually puts together new ideas for the kind of makeup that she wants to make to give to the customers who support the brand.

Currently, the brand is involved with producing numerous different kinds of makeup like lipsticks, highlighters, eyeshadows and so on. Most recently, Lime Crime launched its new range of makeup called ‘Pocket Candy’ which is lime crime’s take on classic nineties products and makeup trends. Larkin & Lacey: Fighting Social Injustice

As Trump escalates his war on the press, journalists and whistleblowers are being attacked and criminalized for exercising their first amendment rights at an alarming pace. We watched Greg Gianforte body slam a reporter only to become elected and let off with a slap on the wrist.

We can see these sentiments embraced more solidly every day, watching our civil liberties slip away in real time. Major news organizations are being banned from White House briefings. Journalists are being arrested and jailed for reporting on court proceedings involving their towns sheriff.

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin took their case before The United States Court of Appeals after a grand jury subpoenaed the identities of every citizen that read their online report. They were stripped from their homes in the middle of the night for their reporting, and the people they informed were scrutinized and implicated for perusing constitutionally protected information.

Lacey and Larkin won their settlement and where reimbursed 3.75 million dollars for the attack, an used this money to establish an organization dedicated to protecting civil, human, and migrant right.

The Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund connects and supports groups that advocate support for these rights, fighting back against the oppression that they and others have suffered as authoritarian ideas begin taking footholds in the minds of a people trained by fear.

Through fear, entire cultures are being criminalized and targeted with inflammatory rhetoric that exaggerates and amplifies the acts of a few to manipulate public perception of the majority. Read more: Michael Larcey | Crunchbase

Because of fear, children are being torn from their parents and detained in prison-like conditions for existing. Because of fear people are labeled as illegal, stripped of their human identity and their existence invalidated.

When it comes to fighting fear, education isn’t the only tool we have at our disposal. And that’s a good thing because research shows that the minds of people that are easily manipulated by fear tend to run on emotion, not logic.

To really stand a chance organization and cohesiveness have to be central to the movement. With so much effort being put forth through so many different organizations, being able to solidly connect will provide the force to impact public activism on a much larger scale.

The Lacy and Larkin Frontera Fund works to give people their voice back, providing a platform for social justice that can directly influence policy through the efforts of many. By supporting organizations like the American Immigration Council, programs are being designed to inform the public’s perception on immigration by showing that our cultural identity depends on it.

We are a nation of immigrants and none of us have to look very far into our past to see our roots in other countries, and once people begin to understand more clearly the principles of our identity we can once again thrive and prosper on the diversity that built this nation.

By defending human and migrants rights we can protect future generations from the nightmares of authoritarianism.

The Unusual Discovery Of Anthony Petrello’s Former Roommate

Anthony Petrello is the Chairman and CEO of Nabors Industries, one of the world’s largest publicly-traded oil drilling contractor companies. Petrello has been a solid financial and technological leader at the company and has been compensated quite well for his efforts. But how he arrived at his current position is quite the story that his former roommate, Lloyd Grove who contributes to the Daily Beast recalls in this article.

In his reminiscence of the days he and Petrello knew each other, Lloyd Grove describes him as a math whiz who seemed to be headed for a career as a mathematician. They both attended Yale University together where Petrello was the favorite student of Serge Lang, one of the world’s most well-known mathematicians. Petrello graduated with high honors with both a bachelor’s and a master’s in Advanced Mathematics from Yale, but shockingly Petrello decided not to become a mathematics professor. Instead he went into law and served corporate clients at Baker & McKenzie where he became Managing Partner in a few years.

Anthony Petrello joined Nabors Industries in 1991 and became CEO in 2011. He’s also on the Board of Trustees at the Texas Children’s Hospital where he has contributed millions to neurological research. His passion for this philanthropy has come from his family, in particular his daughter Carena who has cerebral palsy. He made friends with Dan and Jan Duncan who helped start the neurological research institute at TCH and it was subsequently named in their honor. Since then the Petrello’s and Duncans have been fighting to bring more awareness to neurological disorders and treatment.

The elections and their impact on the Americans according to Brad Reifler

The elections have come and gone, Trump was the surprise winner of the college vote, edging out Clinton who clearly had the popular vote. The question that many Americans are still pondering about is how the elections will affect them personally.

PR News Wire believed that Business experts such as Brad Reifler had looked into the possibilities that would present themselves when either Trump or Clinton won, and the analysis is as follows.

Taxation at different income levels

Before the elections, the two candidates had promised that they would be looking into the tax code and simplifying it. The suggestion that Clinton had made was to deal with people with an income of more than a million dollars. The length of time one had been earning would also have had an impact on how they are taxed.

However, now that we know for a fact that will not be happening, let us look at what Trump had proposed. The law that seems to be the one that will take effect will be condensing the tax brackets into fewer income levels. He had also pledged that he would reduce the taxation on married people. The part that had resonated well with many was the suggestion that he would put in place taxation laws that would target the upper middle class.

About Child care

This is the one area where the supporters of both candidates will not be antagonized. Both Trump and Clinton wanted to create a situation where families with little children would get subsidies to manage the cost of caring for their children.

Estate tax

Trump had stated that he would change the entire legislation that governs Estate tax. On the other hand, he wants to increase the amount of money that is made from capital gain taxes and ease the burden of the small scale farmers and small businesses.
